Simply wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Avoid heavy meals right before the session. Prepare a quiet, comfortable space in your home. Professor Cardoso brings a portable massage table and all other necessary equipment. It is recommended to arrive at the session with an intention - something you would like to focus on, or something you wish to release or restore.

Who was Mikao Usui, and how did Reiki begin?

Mikao Usui was a Japanese teacher best known for developing the system that became known as Usui Reiki Ryoho in the early twentieth century. Historical accounts associated with his memorial describe him as a widely read spiritual practitioner who studied subjects including Buddhism, psychology, medicine, and philosophy. In 1922, following a period of meditation and spiritual practice on Mount Kurama, he established a method centered on personal development, meditation, ethical principles, and hands-on practice. He later taught this system to students in Japan, helping create the lineage from which many modern Reiki traditions developed.
